Public Affairs
The Public Affairs Section manages the media and cultural affairs for the Embassy. The Section disseminates information about US Government policies and general information regarding the United States Government policy to policymakers and journalists and is a resource for members of the public seeking information about the United States in general.
Media Affairs
The Section is responsible for maintaining and expanding contacts with the media (newspaper, radio, and television) and for relaying information about US government policy to journalists through press conferences, press releases, and media products. The Section strives to promote media training and other programs that contribute to greater understanding of US policy and to assist with needs identified by media entities.

Cultural and Educational Affairs
The Section is also responsible with promoting cultural and educational ties between Suriname and the United States. It manages programs such as the following:
- The International Visitor Program
- The Volunteer Visitor Program
- The Ambassador’s Fund for the Fight Against HIV/AIDS
- Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation
- The Fulbright Senior Specialist Program
- The English Language Fellow
- Fullbright/OAS Ecology Program
The Section also presents cultural activities throughout the year.
